Issue Position

I will defend proven energy resources and incentivize innovation across the industry to create and protect Wyoming jobs. The federal government is picking winners and losers in the energy industry, and renewable energy is the Obama Administration's clear-cut winner, creating a serious threat to the hard working people of Wyoming. We need policies that allow for "all-of-the-above energy" strategies that include coal, oil, gas, nuclear in addition to renewable sources. By diversifying as well as protecting current sources, new jobs will be created across the state while securing already existing ones. Rather than finding cleaner ways to use coal, the government is trying to eliminate it completely, even though coal is our cheapest and most efficient energy source. We need to incentivize innovation across the energy industry and find cleaner ways to use proven resources.
